Mechanical Testing

Constellation has the capability to perform the following mechanical tests:

• Hardness

• Microhardness

• Compression

• Tensile strength

• Discontinuities

• Shear

• Metallographic evaluation

Raw materials can be tested for tensile and yield strength, hardness, elongation, rupture/compression strength, linear thermal expansion, and bending strength.  The photograph below shows a tensile strength setup for testing a brazed tube assembly.
